Global Security Officer / Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA)
While deployed as a Global Security Officer, as a member of Global Security Division (GSD), I support DIA Forward Element Afghanistan (DFE-A). I am responsible for executing the daily conduct of ground transportation and security missions for safe and effective movement of agency personnel and sensitive equipment throughout areas of operation (AO). I plan and execute all GSD missions in accordance with (IAW) DIA and theater specific policies and procedures. In facilitation of these duties, I make coordination efforts with adjacent units and local forces. This includes de-confliction of routes, the acquisition of required documentation, and the de-escalation of any conflict that may arise with local forces, civilians, or adjacent forces. As the GSD team lead while deployed, it is my responsibility to assign personnel to specific missions and to supervise the execution of all daily tasking. In addition to my deployed duties, I have served as the primary GSD human resources (HR) representative as well as one of the primary surveillance and counter surveillance subject matter experts.
