FLS Ramp Services Coordinator,

Location  Kandahar Airfield, Afghanistan

Salary: $4500/ month ($54,000) stateside equivelent of $70,000 due to 330 day IRS tax exclusion.

Working Conditions

Working conditions in Afghanistan are arduous and include heat
and dust, frequently involving much physical exertion and exposure
to the elements and aircraft related hazards. Operations will be of a
24 hour nature and may include routine air travel.

FLS JOB DESCRIPTION

Core Responsibilities and Duties
Duties will include, but are not limited to :
 Act as the primary ramp point of contact for ATOC and BOC regarding the provision of all ramp services as dictated by the NSPA/FLS Statement of Work.
 Interpret information from the published flying program and allocate specific aircraft from this to the Ramp Services Supervisors along with their respective ramp crew leads.
 Monitor any changes to the flying program and react appropriately to any additional aircraft and unseen delays that may occur.
 Be prepared to publish a local flying program (if not produced) in order to maintain effective visibility of operations.
 Identify, with sufficient time for required planning, all movements or flights that require special handling or increased personnel or equipment. This could include VIP movements, specialisedcargo, Dangerous Goods (DG), and/or marked increase in aircraft activity during surgeperiods.
 Participate fully in all aspects of the management of Health and Safety; in particular ensure staff are following the rules for the safe loading and dispatch of transport aircraft, are wearing the required PPE at all times and are proactive in the implementation of a safe working environment.
 Ensure adequate personnel and equipment are available to meet the requirements of the flying program
 Report all deficiencies with ACHE or MHE in accordance with standard operating procedures.
 Be available to participate in planning meetings with FLS supervisors and FLS Managementas required to discuss any operational issues and offer specific subject matter advice on FLS procedures and planning.
 Liaise regularly with FLS management to identify any shortfall in trained personnel.
 Conduct OJT if required (including the assessment of ACHE/MHE operators)
 Maintain daily/weekly statistics and reports as required and disseminate in a timely manner.
 Ensures that their area of responsibility is fully prepared for the needs of the oncoming shift and wherever possible, outbound loads are prepared and positioned in advance if required.
 Proactively carry out any other associated duties (as allocated by FLS Management) to
promote FLS’s daily operations.

Required Qualifications, Experience and Skills
The Ramp Services coordinator is responsible to the FLS Manager for the planning, collation and dissemination of the daily flying program and all associated movement requirements affecting the FLS areas of responsibility within the FLS function.
They will be the KBR subject matter expert on all the planning aspects of the FLS function and will be required to liaise with internal and external agencies to ensure that all relevant detailed information is made available to the relevant FLS Manager to enable timely and accurate planning of FLS resources to meet the operational requirements. They will be responsible for ensuring that the required ACHE and personnel are available to meet the task on a daily basis and highlight any shortfall of critical equipment or manning to the FLS Manager.

Min Requirements: 
Computer literate

– US Secret Clearance (will be cross adjudicated to NATO Secret
Proven ability of managing an Air Movements shift of at least 40/50employees
Must be able to obtain a NATO SECRET Security Clearance
Proven record of air cargo operations including cargo supervision and the use of specialistAircraft Handling Equipment
Be knowledgeable of, and have a background in, the requirements of the various types of aircraft and handling equipment used by the military and civil operators
Have knowledge of the current operating criteria of military/civil transport aircraft standard operating procedures and processes
Be familiar with NATO, ICAO, USAF and ISO terminology
Have a good administrative background
Have knowledge of airfield operations
Thorough understanding of transport aircraft types, capabilities and configurations
Trained to IATA DGR Cat 6 (Cargo Acceptance Staff (including DG))
Fluent in English to a minimum level of 3333 in accordance with STANAG 6001
Have an ability to multi task as and when required, sometimes at short notice
Preferred :
Experience of working on operations in austere remote sites or in developing nations
Ex – military background at flight sergeant/sergeant level or equivalent e.g. including civil and military cargo operations
