Job Title: Comptroller Support
Location: Richmond, VA
Clearance Required: Secret
Pay rate: Negotiated
Duration: 90 days+

Job Responsibilities:

Assist a large defense organization with audit support, remediation, and business process improvement
activities. The ideal candidate will have the ability to be creative, collaborative, detail-oriented, a good
communicator/listener (in-person and remote), organized, proactive, self-motivated, and team player
oriented in a dynamic environment.

Requirements of the position are and must be addressed in the application or resume:
Four or more years’ experience in the following:
 Performing analysis and preparing clear and valid interpretations and recommendations.
 Preparing and presenting briefs and status reports to senior leadership
 Working independently as well as in a team, in a fluid, multi-tasking, and high-performing
 Effective communication skills, both verbally and in writing, to include briefing charts, reports,
and written products to concisely convey complex federal financial management issues
 Familiarity with financial management enough to conduct assessments of an organization
involving coordination protocols, workload allocation, interfaces and inter-relationships
between and among programs, systems, functions, policies.
 High proficiency in use of Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Visio, Word, PowerPoint, Project,

*Not required but, Preferred Experience:
 Knowledge of DoD or federal financial management and associated programs, systems,
functions, policies
 Familiarity with policies on accounting issues and providing resolutions that consistent with
GAAP and accounting standards
 Interpreting policy and providing functional recommendations on accounting issues that are
consistent with GAAP
 Developing or performing period close activities related to GLAC reconciliations, transactional
data validation, accounting corrections and reversals, beginning balance analysis, closing
activities and analysis, estimation methods, accrual adjustments and other non-routine GLAC
 Designing processes and SOPs related to operational accounting processes that are performed
daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annually
 Evaluating control gaps based on review of business process documentation as it pertains to
federal accounting standards and policies

 Performing internal assessments, continuous process improvements (Lean Six Sigma), policy
review and implementation
 CPA, CGFM, CDFM, PMP, CFE, or CIA certifications a plus
Education requirement is a four-year degree from an accredited university or college; preferred major of
Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Management Information Systems,
Government or Public Administration, or related field.
