SOF Psychologist, No Clearance, Multi Date of 1 year, DC Metro Area

Salary: You decide, Doc (based upon your current billing rate/structure)

Location: Washington, DC, Metro-Area. Multiple Assignment Locations…
• Arlington, VA (Crystal City) – Home Office / Remote Work
• Fort Meade, MD – One Day of On-Site Classroom Instruction
• Hunt Valley, MD – Four Days of On-Site Instruction

Period of Performance:
March 2019 – March 2020 (one year) to include two five-day course iterations.
• Group 1 – March 2019
• Group 2 – August 2019

Job Description:
Client is looking for an Operational Psychologist to serve as a Sr. Instructor, providing Interview Techniques Training for an anticipated program supporting a DoD client’s customized training course with continuous feedback for interview techniques in various scenarios. The Sr. Instructor will support a one-year contract to teach a five-day military Interviewing Techniques course incorporating psychological evaluations for each student to create a customized training plan. The program is a four-month course designed to train personnel to become Operational Advisors. This course will enhance Operational Advisor interviewing/information acquisition skills and enhance presentation/information transmission skills. As a licensed clinical psychologist, the Sr. Instructor will read, interpret, and provide feedback from the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory (MMPI 2), Test of Attention and Interpersonal Style (TAIS), NEO, and Shipley to identify individual interviewing and presentation skills, strengths, and
weaknesses. The Sr. Instructor will provide a comprehensive written and in person review of each student’s performance in the following skills:

• Effective Questioning
• Effective Problem Analysis and Interview Planning
• Effective Interpersonal Skills
• Effective Listening Skills
• Effective Learning Skills
• Methods to Influence Others
Coursework/curriculum will include:
• Interview Planning
• Effective Interviewing
• Interpersonal Effectiveness
• Active Listening
• Basic Elicitation

Operational Psychologist/Sr. Instructor –
Interview Training Techniques

• Influence/Persuasion Methods
• Effective Presentations

Minimum Qualifications
Required Skills and Experience:
• Minimum of 10 years experience training military and/or intelligence personnel
• Minimum of 10 years experience with SOF (Special Operations Forces)/SMU (Special Mission Unit) Assessment and selection programs
• Ability to read, interpret, and provide feedback from the MMPI 2 (Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory
• Extensive knowledge in elicitation, deception detection, interrogation, interrogation resistance, and adaptive thinking.

Education:
• Ph.D. in Psychology

• None required
